Thomas S. Wheat
Served 3 years in the 41st Alabama Infantry, Company A
Enlisted March 13, 1862.

William Adamsel Wheat
One of the original Tuscaloosa Plow Boys.
Incorporated into the 38th TN Infantry after his company was hit by measles and the
Alabama units moved out before they were physically able.

Henry Lucius Wheat
Served in the 41st Alabama Infantry, Company A
Enlisted March 13, 1862
Wounded May 22, 1862 near Lynchburg, VA and sent to Bragg Hospital in Newman, GA.
Captured near Petersburg March 28, 1865 and released June 21, 1865.
Records indicate he was 5’101/2” tall, dark hair and blue eyes.

James W. Wheat
Served in the 43rd Alabama Infantry, Company D
Killed in the Battle at Cumberland Gap, Tennessee Jan. 23, 1863.

Tillman Howell Wheat
Served 3 years in the Alabama 41st Infantry, Company A
Enlisted March 13, 1862.
Wounded Feb. 17, 1865 when he was hit by a mini ball that fractured his right shoulder
at Chicamauga, TN. He did not have a horse or mule so he walked home from TN.
On May 18, 1887 he applied for and received soldier’s relief. This wound bothered him until he died in 1931 at the age of 92. The cause of his death was the result of a tree falling on him.
