Land on the waters of Huston's Fork, a Branch of South Fork of Licking
Part of a survey of 1000 acres. |
Ashbrook Family 1682-1943 by Helen Hutchcraft and Julia Spencer Ardery
| In 1788 (Aaron Ashbrook) moved to Bourbon County KY where he purchased a tract "]ying on the waters of Hustons fork, a branch of Soujh fork of Licking from one James Buchanon and his wife, Pheba this being a part of a survey of 1000 acres. This tract adjoined a tract of 1000 acres that James Buchanan deeded William McConnell, a part of which was inherited by the Ardery family four miles from Paris on the Lexington pike. Here Aaron Ashbrook lived until his death which occurred in 1810, as his will is a matter of record in the Bourbon County clerk's office, probated at the Feb. court and written Jan. 4 of that same year. Since the wife of Aaron Ashbrook is not named in his will, nor is she a party to any deeds recorded in Bourbon County, it is supposed she died before the family moved to Kentucky. |
