John Bowers died circa 1848, and Sinai went to live with her youngest child, Catherine who had married Samuel M. Tate in Marion County Tennessee.

The Stevenson Story by Eliza B. Woodall

Sinai Roberts first married Peter Anderson who died about 1825. She then married John Bowers who died around 1848. Sinai died in 1874, age 93 years.

Her daughter Catherine married Samuel Tate, a Methodist minister, the oldest child of John K. and Rachel (Carmichael) Tate. Catherine and Samuel Tate lived and reared their family near Martin Springs on Battle Creek. Sinai lies buried nearby and probably lived in that community after John Bowers died. She was a faithful member of the Primitive Baptist Church on Crow Creek as was her sister Mourning Tally.
