Laura B. Roberts, daughter of Archibald and Lucinda Roberts was born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois Jan. 30, 1865. Later the family moved to the Lick Prairie neighborhood and from the age of 10 to the time of her marriage, she made her home with a half-sister, Mrs. Jacob Hammaker.
In l882 at the age of l7, she was married to C. D. Morgan and for 10 years they made their home in the same neighborhood. Then about 38 years ago, they moved to Allendale and established a home here.
Mrs. Morgan was the mother of 12 children: Mrs. Cain Clark, Albert E. Morgan, Mrs. Mayme Williams and Mrs. RienzaWolfe. Flora who died at the age of 9 years and 7 other children who died in infancy.
Left to mourn are 12 grandchildren, l great-grandchild, 2 half-brothers John A. Munsey of Dallas, Texas, Asa Munsey of California; 2 half-sisters, Mrs.Jacob Hammaker of Mt. Carmel and Mrs. Jacob Back of Mansfield, Texas.
