This land became part of Amelia County after Amelia County was formed in 1734 from Prince George and Brunswick County. The land was actually in present day Nottoway County VA which was formed from Amelia County in 1788-89. Deep Creek and Sellar Creek, as later deeds describe this area, are in the north central part of Nottoway County close to the Amelia County line. Sellar Creek is called Cellar Creek on modern maps.
Two years later Daniel2 Sturdivant Sr. also bought land on Second Swamp near the land that his father had owned in Prince George County. Apparently the Second Swamp land became his home place.

Sturdivant Family by C. T. Smith Jr.

According to the Executive Journals of the Council on Dec. 12, 1733, Daniel and James Sturdivant obtained 800 acres in Prince George between Deep Creek and Sellers Fork, to include 400 acres formerly granted Daniel Sturdivant one of the petitioners.

This record shows that Daniel2 Sturdivant Sr. was still living in 1733. He received the Grant on Deep Creek in 1725. Apparently 400 acres of this land was owned by both father and son. The other 400 acres was the 1725 Land Grant.
After the death of Daniel2 Sturdivant Sr. his son James3 had 400 acres in his own right and 200 acres of the 400 acre 1725 Land Grant. The other 200 acres was owned by Daniel3 Sturdivant Jr., the other son of Daniel2 Sturdivant Sr.
Second Swamp flows into the Blackwater River.
In 1733 Daniel2 Sturdivant Sr. would have been about 68 years old
Several references appear in 1738 and 1739 for a Daniel Sturdivant in Prince George County. They are for being overseer of a road and serving on the Grand Jury. By 1738 Daniel2 Sturdivant Sr. would have been about 73 years of age. More likely, these recrods refer to Daniel3 Sturdivant Jr. Daniel2 Sturdivant Sr. probably died between 1733 and 1738.
Records for James3 Sturdivant begin 1720-1721 while records for Daniel3 Sturdivant Jr. begin about 1738. These records would indicate that Daniel3 Sturdivant Jr. was several years younger than James3 Sturdivant. Daniel2 Sturdivant Sr. probably had daughters who were born perhaps earlier than James3 Sturdivant and between James3 and Daniel3 Sturdivant Jr.
According to the Bristol Parish Register, John3 Sturdivant, probable son of Daniel2 Sturdivant, and his wife Elizabeth had a son William4 Sturdivant born Nov. 12, 1723 and baptized Feb. 12, 1724. Also listed in the Bristol Parish Register is a negro belonging to John and Elizabeth Sturdivant born Sept. 12, 1723. Nothing further is known of this William4 Sturdivant.
