1. Mary Ann Buchanan married Elijah Heartley. He married (1) Nancy Hamilton in Russell County KY. By his first wife he had Nathan Heartley and Melissa Heartly. Elijah Heartley and family appear on the1860 Census for Menard County Illinois.
2. William Alexander Buchanan was listed on the 1850 Census of Morgan County IL and the 1860 Census of Springfield, Sangamon County IL. His first wife died in Waverly, Morgan County IL. He and his second wife moved to Arcadia, Crawford County Kansas in 1867.
3. Isaac Hudson Buchanan was listed with the William Alexander Buchanan on the 1850 Census of Morgan County IL. He never married and went with William Alexander Buchanan and family to Kansas and died there.
4. James Monroe Buchanan was on the 1860 Census of Macoupin County IL.
5. John Calhoun Buchanan was on the 1850 Census for Springfield, Sangamon County IL and on the 1860 Census of Springfield, Sangamon County IL.
6. Polly Jane Buchanan was the mother of Bethuel Buchanan.
